Recuperative Boarding
Has your horse been injured or developed a problem that requires an extended layoff in a non-stressful environment with experienced professionals to oversee to his care?
We also provide temporary boarding for horses that need a concentrated series of treatments to resolve their physical issues. This can be arranged for periods of 1 to 4 weeks.
Retirement Boarding
Is your riding partner getting older? Are they unsound or no longer suitable for regular use and competition? Would you like to move on to a younger, sounder horse but don't have the time to care for more than one horse. We can provide that safe caring environment they need.
Temporary Boarding
Are you in a situation where you need to take a time-out from horses, due to other responsibilities. If you don't want your riding partner to be left standing in a small stall with limited or no turnout consider sending them here to our safe roomy paddocks.
Sunnyside Farm is now providing short or
long-term rehabilitation and retirement boarding in the warm, dry interior of BC.
The Kamloops and Thompson Valley area is ideal for all horses. The climate is classed as semi-arid with under 11 inches of annual precipitation. Mud is never a problem and insects and
parasites are greatly reduced because of the dryness.
We can provide the care your older horse needs in a safe and comfortable environment at a reasonable cost to you.
Ours is a private farm and we live on site.
We are experienced horsepersons with over 40 years of owning and working with all types of horses. We've competed in many equine sports including: distance riding, gymkhana, halter, pleasure classes and driving.
Both Murray and myself are Certified Equine Sport Therapists working in both the
Fraser Valley, Kamloops, Cariboo and Okanagan areas. We have bred and trained Anglo Arabian performance horses for many years and
I am a retired Certified
Farrier.
Complete Boarding Package Includes:

Your horse will live free in a quarter acre safe paddock. (Maximum of two horses per paddock.) |

Each paddock has a 12 x 24 shelter that your horse can come and go from as they chose. |

Twice daily feedings of high quality alfalfa/grass hay. Unless obesity is a problem all horses get all the hay they can eat. Grain and supplements as needed. Special diets can be accommodated. |

Full body checks of each horse daily at feeding time. |
|
Salt blocks provided. |
|
Quarterly worming. |
|
Fresh, clean water always available (heated in the winter). |

We provide all handling for the Vet or Farrier. |
